Narrative:
During approach vectoring our flight (company aebb and another company flight I believe was company aeba) controller gave us aebb clearance he intended for aeba, which had us turn off of the rmg 2 arrival on a 180 degree heading and descend to 10000 ft MSL. We acknowledged clearance and complied. While watching TCASII, we noticed we were heading towards the departure area from atl. Soon controller asked eaba if he was on a 180 degree heading. Realizing what had happened, he gave us a turn to 090 degrees (a turn away from departure traffic). Rest of flight uneventful.
