Narrative:
Loss of 'a' system hydraulic on approach to ZZZ. Performed QRH items. Declared an emergency. Briefed the cabin crew for a precautionary landing. The landing was performed without incident. We were then towed to the gate. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the loss of 'a' hydraulic system was caused by a massive leak on or in the 'a' system pressure module located on the forward main wheel well left side.

Title: A B737-300 ON APCH DSNDING FROM 9500 FT LOST 'A' SYS HYDS PRESSURE AND QUANTITY. FLUID LOST AT 'A' SYS PRESSURE MODULE.
Narrative: LOSS OF 'A' SYS HYD ON APCH TO ZZZ. PERFORMED QRH ITEMS. DECLARED AN EMER. BRIEFED THE CABIN CREW FOR A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG. THE LNDG WAS PERFORMED WITHOUT INCIDENT. WE WERE THEN TOWED TO THE GATE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE LOSS OF 'A' HYD SYS WAS CAUSED BY A MASSIVE LEAK ON OR IN THE 'A' SYS PRESSURE MODULE LOCATED ON THE FORWARD MAIN WHEEL WELL L SIDE.
