Narrative:
On nov/sat/03 I svced the oil on aircraft X and found on the filler neck of both engines the wrong oil type placard. The oil type displayed was 2380, which is no longer in use. I documented the discrepancy on the ETOPS non-routine. According to the B767 company advanced revision, FAA required placards can't be deferred. Both the maintenance manual and ipc still listed the 2380 placard as standard equipment. Neither have been revised to show the conversion to 2197 oil. However, maintenance manual 11-25-01-2 did list the oil type placard as 'FAA required,' albeit with the 2380 type. I'm concerned that incorrect servicing may occur on the B767 fleet due to incorrect or missing oil type placards. Since nov/sat/03, I have svced oil on the A300 fleet and found some with the same incorrect oil type placard. This fleet also has been converted to 2197 oil. However, the oil type placard is not mandatory on this fleet.

Title: A TECHNICIAN RPTS THE CARRIER HAS CHANGED THE FLEET TO A DIFFERENT ENG OIL SPEC 2197. TANK FILLER NECKS STILL PLACARDED WITH OLD OIL SPEC 2380.
Narrative: ON NOV/SAT/03 I SVCED THE OIL ON ACFT X AND FOUND ON THE FILLER NECK OF BOTH ENGS THE WRONG OIL TYPE PLACARD. BOTH THE MAINT MANUAL AND IPC STILL LISTED THE 2380 PLACARD AS STANDARD EQUIP. NEITHER HAVE BEEN REVISED TO SHOW THE CONVERSION TO 2197 OIL. HOWEVER, MAINT MANUAL 11-25-01-2 DID LIST THE OIL TYPE PLACARD AS 'FAA REQUIRED,' ALBEIT WITH THE 2380 TYPE. I'M CONCERNED THAT INCORRECT SVCING MAY OCCUR ON THE B767 FLEET DUE TO INCORRECT OR MISSING OIL TYPE PLACARDS.
