Narrative:
En route to dfw, I noted the first officer seat was missing the shoulder harness locking handle. I then checked mine and it, too, was missing. There was no way to lock the shoulder harness in case the pilot passed out. I entered it in the logbook upon arrival in dfw. The plane was taken OTS to be fixed.

Title: AN MD80 CAPT NOTED THE CREW SEATS WERE MISSING THE SHOULDER HARNESS LOCKING HANDLE. REQUIRED ITEM FOR SVCABLE SEAT.
Narrative: ENRTE TO DFW, I NOTED THE FO SEAT WAS MISSING THE SHOULDER HARNESS LOCKING HANDLE. I THEN CHKED MINE AND IT, TOO, WAS MISSING. THERE WAS NO WAY TO LOCK THE SHOULDER HARNESS IN CASE THE PLT PASSED OUT. I ENTERED IT IN THE LOGBOOK UPON ARR IN DFW. THE PLANE WAS TAKEN OTS TO BE FIXED.
