Narrative:
I was assigned a work card X for aircraft air traffic area 31-24. The card task called out for me to take flight recorder out of aircraft X and install a flight recorder that was to be taken from aircraft Y. Carrying out this task per maintenance manual 31-24-011, I inadvertently missed downloading the recorder per mpm 05-44.
