Narrative:

On approach to runway 27L, just outside anval, received TA, followed shortly by an RA. We were on course and at 500 ft. I acquired a white high wing single engine cessna to our left side. Visual acquisition was acquired after we had climbed in response to the RA. Miss distance was 400 ft vertically, and 0 ft horizontally. We re-established on altitude after the RA. Near midair collision report filed with ATC after we landed. ATC was aware of traffic, but due to the high volume of arrival traffic, the controller didn't inform us about the cessna until I told him we were climbing in response to an RA.
