Narrative:

After calling pbi ground control for taxi instructions after engine start, we were cleared to taxi to runway 9L via taxiway C, holding short of runway 13. We acknowledged and complied. Ground then cleared us to cross runway 13, following the gulfstream ahead. As we began to resume our taxi, the first officer, in clearing final approach, stated 'we better stop, there's a light single engine aircraft on final for runway 13.' I brought the airplane to a gentle stop to protect the flight attendants, remaining clear of the runway, yet partially beyond the hold short line. Ground control, also seeing the conflict, instructed us to hold our position. The mooney went around, but it is unknown to us if it was because of a practice approach or ground control's clearance for us to cross.
