Narrative:
I called outside class D airspace for landing straight-in. I was about 6 mi straight out for landing runway 31. I was asked to report 3 mi final. Rhv tower controller was very busy. There are parallel runways in use. I had not been assigned to right or left, but assumed runway 31R since I had come in on long right base from the northeast. At about 3 mi final, the controller asked if I had traffic on parallel runway (left) (a mooney, I think). I reported traffic not in sight. Then about 30 seconds later, I was asked if I had a cessna in sight just off my left side. I reported cessna in sight. I spotted a cessna (152 maybe) 200 ft below, and obviously on final. I was about 200 ft off the cessna's right side and 200 ft above. I was passing at a high rate my indicated airspace (approximately 100 KTS, cessna approximately 70 KTS). Tower cleared me to land and asked cessna to follow me.

Title: NMAC BTWN A C152 AND AN OVERTAKING PA34 ON FINAL FOR RWY 31R AT RHV, CA.
Narrative: I CALLED OUTSIDE CLASS D AIRSPACE FOR LNDG STRAIGHT-IN. I WAS ABOUT 6 MI STRAIGHT OUT FOR LNDG RWY 31. I WAS ASKED TO RPT 3 MI FINAL. RHV TWR CTLR WAS VERY BUSY. THERE ARE PARALLEL RWYS IN USE. I HAD NOT BEEN ASSIGNED TO R OR L, BUT ASSUMED RWY 31R SINCE I HAD COME IN ON LONG R BASE FROM THE NE. AT ABOUT 3 MI FINAL, THE CTLR ASKED IF I HAD TFC ON PARALLEL RWY (L) (A MOONEY, I THINK). I RPTED TFC NOT IN SIGHT. THEN ABOUT 30 SECONDS LATER, I WAS ASKED IF I HAD A CESSNA IN SIGHT JUST OFF MY L SIDE. I RPTED CESSNA IN SIGHT. I SPOTTED A CESSNA (152 MAYBE) 200 FT BELOW, AND OBVIOUSLY ON FINAL. I WAS ABOUT 200 FT OFF THE CESSNA'S R SIDE AND 200 FT ABOVE. I WAS PASSING AT A HIGH RATE MY INDICATED AIRSPACE (APPROX 100 KTS, CESSNA APPROX 70 KTS). TWR CLRED ME TO LAND AND ASKED CESSNA TO FOLLOW ME.
