Narrative:

At sfo airport, after landing, cleared runway 28R at high speed, taxiway T and instructed to hold short of runway 28L. I was unable to see hold short lines on taxiway D which is a hard left turn off taxiway T. Hold short lights were very dim and some were inoperative. Crossed over hold short bars and instructed stop by tower. Aircraft on approach to runway 28L had to make missed approach. We never entered onto the runway, but were close. Contacted tower by landline and was told they have had previous problems with the lights at that intersection and that the sfo port authority/authorized was working on repairing the situation. I was also told that in the recent past, they have had a couple of the same incidents with other aircraft.
