Narrative:
At brigs intersection and FL210, started to pick up continuous light turbulence. Informed ATC in reducing speed from assigned speed. Then hit moderate clear air turbulence -- approaching severe. Told flight attendants to take their seats and requested lower. Then informed of flight attendant injured due to moderate turbulence event. Declared medical emergency and proceeded direct to isp. All ride reports were occasional light chop which we had along with the smooth air.
