Narrative:
I had just taken off after doing a touch and go, and another cessna had just taken off runway 21L and turned crosswind just after I had taken off. Tower called and said, 'follow that cessna X,' so I replied, 'following that cessna X,' following the C172 after tower had told me to. We were both on downwind and I was following the cessna in front with more than a sufficient amount of distance between him and I. Tower called and said, 'follow that traffic Y.' I responded by saying 'following that traffic Y.' after about 20 seconds tower responded once again by saying, 'follow that traffic, do you have the traffic in sight, Y.' clear touch and go runway 21R,' I responded, 'traffic in sight, clear touch and go runway 21R.' finally, he turned base I was still on my downwind, after he turned final I began to turn base. Once I was about lined up with runway 21R I turned final. While this was happening I thought that the other cessna was lined for runway 21L. As soon as I turned final I saw that the other cessna began to get about 100 ft front of me and was about 50 ft lower than me, I realized there was something wrong, so I was about to call the tower and tell the operator that I was going to go around, but he called and asked, 'what runway are you lined up for.' I replied, 'runway 21R X.' then tower responded, 'go around X.' I responded by saying 'going around X, tower is it okay if I go between the 2 runways,' tower said 'clear to do so X,' so I did and that was the end of the ordeal. After the go around I climbed up to 6000 ft and did one touch and go and landed.

Title: C172 EXPERIENCED CLOSE CALL AT PRC WHEN TURNING FINAL TO A PARALLEL RWY.
Narrative: I HAD JUST TAKEN OFF AFTER DOING A TOUCH AND GO, AND ANOTHER CESSNA HAD JUST TAKEN OFF RWY 21L AND TURNED XWIND JUST AFTER I HAD TAKEN OFF. TWR CALLED AND SAID, 'FOLLOW THAT CESSNA X,' SO I REPLIED, 'FOLLOWING THAT CESSNA X,' FOLLOWING THE C172 AFTER TWR HAD TOLD ME TO. WE WERE BOTH ON DOWNWIND AND I WAS FOLLOWING THE CESSNA IN FRONT WITH MORE THAN A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF DISTANCE BTWN HIM AND I. TWR CALLED AND SAID, 'FOLLOW THAT TFC Y.' I RESPONDED BY SAYING 'FOLLOWING THAT TFC Y.' AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS TWR RESPONDED ONCE AGAIN BY SAYING, 'FOLLOW THAT TFC, DO YOU HAVE THE TFC IN SIGHT, Y.' CLR TOUCH AND GO RWY 21R,' I RESPONDED, 'TFC IN SIGHT, CLR TOUCH AND GO RWY 21R.' FINALLY, HE TURNED BASE I WAS STILL ON MY DOWNWIND, AFTER HE TURNED FINAL I BEGAN TO TURN BASE. ONCE I WAS ABOUT LINED UP WITH RWY 21R I TURNED FINAL. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING I THOUGHT THAT THE OTHER CESSNA WAS LINED FOR RWY 21L. AS SOON AS I TURNED FINAL I SAW THAT THE OTHER CESSNA BEGAN TO GET ABOUT 100 FT FRONT OF ME AND WAS ABOUT 50 FT LOWER THAN ME, I REALIZED THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG, SO I WAS ABOUT TO CALL THE TWR AND TELL THE OPERATOR THAT I WAS GOING TO GO AROUND, BUT HE CALLED AND ASKED, 'WHAT RWY ARE YOU LINED UP FOR.' I REPLIED, 'RWY 21R X.' THEN TWR RESPONDED, 'GO AROUND X.' I RESPONDED BY SAYING 'GOING AROUND X, TWR IS IT OKAY IF I GO BTWN THE 2 RWYS,' TWR SAID 'CLR TO DO SO X,' SO I DID AND THAT WAS THE END OF THE ORDEAL. AFTER THE GAR I CLBED UP TO 6000 FT AND DID ONE TOUCH AND GO AND LANDED.
