Narrative:
We were cleared on the '280 route' by ewr TCA at 800 ft. This is a published, constantly used helicopter route between mmu and new york city, passing just north of the newark airport. Incoming traffic to ewr on the ILS is pointed out to the helicopter's and we confirm visually and avoid the arrs. While on this route, ATC pointed out a jet on approach and we had visual contact and advised ATC. We then saw the jet initiate a go around. We asked ATC if this was because of us and he said evidently. The jet's TCASII resolution went off and their policy is to go around. He said the same thing happened earlier that day (but not to us). I think that if the arrs into ewr are aware of the '280 route' and to expect crossing helicopters, this would not happen again. I've been using this route in a helicopter for 15+ yrs and this is the first go around I've seen, evidently caused by our being 'too close' to an incoming airliner. At no time was the safety of the airliner on approach, or our own safety going through his approach path on the localizer, jeopardized.

Title: AN SK76 HELI PASSING N OF THE EWR ARPT ON A CLASS B TRANSITION RTE CAUSES A GAR BY AN ACR JET ON FINAL APCH TO THE ARPT.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED ON THE '280 RTE' BY EWR TCA AT 800 FT. THIS IS A PUBLISHED, CONSTANTLY USED HELI RTE BTWN MMU AND NEW YORK CITY, PASSING JUST N OF THE NEWARK ARPT. INCOMING TFC TO EWR ON THE ILS IS POINTED OUT TO THE HELI'S AND WE CONFIRM VISUALLY AND AVOID THE ARRS. WHILE ON THIS RTE, ATC POINTED OUT A JET ON APCH AND WE HAD VISUAL CONTACT AND ADVISED ATC. WE THEN SAW THE JET INITIATE A GAR. WE ASKED ATC IF THIS WAS BECAUSE OF US AND HE SAID EVIDENTLY. THE JET'S TCASII RESOLUTION WENT OFF AND THEIR POLICY IS TO GO AROUND. HE SAID THE SAME THING HAPPENED EARLIER THAT DAY (BUT NOT TO US). I THINK THAT IF THE ARRS INTO EWR ARE AWARE OF THE '280 RTE' AND TO EXPECT XING HELIS, THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I'VE BEEN USING THIS RTE IN A HELI FOR 15+ YRS AND THIS IS THE FIRST GAR I'VE SEEN, EVIDENTLY CAUSED BY OUR BEING 'TOO CLOSE' TO AN INCOMING AIRLINER. AT NO TIME WAS THE SAFETY OF THE AIRLINER ON APCH, OR OUR OWN SAFETY GOING THROUGH HIS APCH PATH ON THE LOC, JEOPARDIZED.
