Narrative:

At XA30 am, I assumed the radar position. Sectors were combined and no radar associate controller was present. I had 5 aircraft inbound to atl and was spacing those aircraft. I turned the B727 back on course. However, the rate of turn was much less than I anticipated. Additional turns were issued, however separation was lost. I believe that my relative inexperience as a radar controller, combined with the early morning hour, and my fatigue were large contributing factors to this event.
