Narrative:
Returning to hef, I contacted potomac approach to activate my ADIZ flight plan. ATC gave me a squawk code. That gave me all I needed to enter the ADIZ (radio communication and a unique transponder code). ATC couldn't find me, asked location. Told him southwest of hef, entering ADIZ. He was receiving a code different from what I'd entered, and told me I should not have entered ADIZ without clearance. That is false. No clearance is required to enter ADIZ. Only squawk code and radio contact. I elected not to argue with the controller who couldn't understand the rules of the ADIZ.

Title: AN RV6A PLT ENTERS THE DC ADIZ WHILE XMITTING THE WRONG SQUAWK CODE FROM THAT ASSIGNED BY PTC CTLR NEAR HEF.
Narrative: RETURNING TO HEF, I CONTACTED POTOMAC APCH TO ACTIVATE MY ADIZ FLT PLAN. ATC GAVE ME A SQUAWK CODE. THAT GAVE ME ALL I NEEDED TO ENTER THE ADIZ (RADIO COM AND A UNIQUE XPONDER CODE). ATC COULDN'T FIND ME, ASKED LOCATION. TOLD HIM SW OF HEF, ENTERING ADIZ. HE WAS RECEIVING A CODE DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I'D ENTERED, AND TOLD ME I SHOULD NOT HAVE ENTERED ADIZ WITHOUT CLRNC. THAT IS FALSE. NO CLRNC IS REQUIRED TO ENTER ADIZ. ONLY SQUAWK CODE AND RADIO CONTACT. I ELECTED NOT TO ARGUE WITH THE CTLR WHO COULDN'T UNDERSTAND THE RULES OF THE ADIZ.
