Narrative:
I was cleared to land runway 11L at tucson international. I landed and was given instructions to turn right off the active runway and back taxi on the opposite runway, (runway 11R/29L) and hold short of runway 21. I taxied as directed, but I failed to hold short of runway 21. When I crossed runway 21 about halfway across, I noticed a cardinal aircraft touching down on runway 21. At that point, tucson tower advised of what I had done. The cardinal looked to be about 3000 ft away when I noticed him landing. I attribute this error to the fact that as I was back taxiing down runway 11R/29L, I was debriefing my student on how the flight went. I admit I got tied up in the debrief and inadvertently crossed runway 21. My student and I discussed my error and we both have learned how important it is to pay attention! I have learned the importance of runway safety and I can assure this will not happen again. I have since required that all my students complete the runway incursion awareness program.

Title: PA28 PLT CROSSES RWY WITHOUT CLRNC IN FRONT OF LNDG TFC AT TUS, AZ.
Narrative: I WAS CLRED TO LAND RWY 11L AT TUCSON INTL. I LANDED AND WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TURN R OFF THE ACTIVE RWY AND BACK TAXI ON THE OPPOSITE RWY, (RWY 11R/29L) AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 21. I TAXIED AS DIRECTED, BUT I FAILED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 21. WHEN I CROSSED RWY 21 ABOUT HALFWAY ACROSS, I NOTICED A CARDINAL ACFT TOUCHING DOWN ON RWY 21. AT THAT POINT, TUCSON TWR ADVISED OF WHAT I HAD DONE. THE CARDINAL LOOKED TO BE ABOUT 3000 FT AWAY WHEN I NOTICED HIM LNDG. I ATTRIBUTE THIS ERROR TO THE FACT THAT AS I WAS BACK TAXIING DOWN RWY 11R/29L, I WAS DEBRIEFING MY STUDENT ON HOW THE FLT WENT. I ADMIT I GOT TIED UP IN THE DEBRIEF AND INADVERTENTLY CROSSED RWY 21. MY STUDENT AND I DISCUSSED MY ERROR AND WE BOTH HAVE LEARNED HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO PAY ATTN! I HAVE LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF RWY SAFETY AND I CAN ASSURE THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I HAVE SINCE REQUIRED THAT ALL MY STUDENTS COMPLETE THE RWY INCURSION AWARENESS PROGRAM.
