Narrative:
We were operating a flight from bwi. Aircraft had MEL 22-30-1 open in the logbook. We reviewed the MEL collectively and elected to use full takeoff rated thrust due to IMC and thunderstorms in the area. After a normal taxi to the active runway, with minor traffic delays, we were cleared for takeoff. The first officer pushed up the throttles and called 'check power.' I took control of the throttles, set 1.77 EPR, and stated 'power set,' N1 was approximately 92%. I called 100 KTS. Shortly thereafter, I called 'reject,' after observing the left engine egt gauge illuminate amber. I took control of the aircraft. The first officer informed tower of the rejected takeoff. I called for the rejected takeoff checklist and requested the first officer to call for emergency rescue coverage to respond. After completing the rejected takeoff checklist we cleared the runway and checked brake cooling requirements. After the allotted cooling period and all appropriate checklists had been completed, we returned to the gate. I made the appropriate logbook entry and turned the aircraft over to maintenance. It would appear that the MEL format could be written with more clarity with the 'note' pertaining to the parameters in a more appropriate position.

Title: AFTER ADJUSTMENTS TO TKOF PARAMETERS WITH AN OPEN MEL ITEM RELATED TO THE FLT AUGMENTATION COMPUTER, TKOF ABORTED BY A B757 PIC PASSING 100 KTS AT BWI, MD.
Narrative: WE WERE OPERATING A FLT FROM BWI. ACFT HAD MEL 22-30-1 OPEN IN THE LOGBOOK. WE REVIEWED THE MEL COLLECTIVELY AND ELECTED TO USE FULL TKOF RATED THRUST DUE TO IMC AND TSTMS IN THE AREA. AFTER A NORMAL TAXI TO THE ACTIVE RWY, WITH MINOR TFC DELAYS, WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. THE FO PUSHED UP THE THROTTLES AND CALLED 'CHK PWR.' I TOOK CTL OF THE THROTTLES, SET 1.77 EPR, AND STATED 'PWR SET,' N1 WAS APPROX 92%. I CALLED 100 KTS. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I CALLED 'REJECT,' AFTER OBSERVING THE L ENG EGT GAUGE ILLUMINATE AMBER. I TOOK CTL OF THE ACFT. THE FO INFORMED TWR OF THE RTO. I CALLED FOR THE RTO CHKLIST AND REQUESTED THE FO TO CALL FOR EMER RESCUE COVERAGE TO RESPOND. AFTER COMPLETING THE RTO CHKLIST WE CLRED THE RWY AND CHKED BRAKE COOLING REQUIREMENTS. AFTER THE ALLOTTED COOLING PERIOD AND ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS HAD BEEN COMPLETED, WE RETURNED TO THE GATE. I MADE THE APPROPRIATE LOGBOOK ENTRY AND TURNED THE ACFT OVER TO MAINT. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE MEL FORMAT COULD BE WRITTEN WITH MORE CLARITY WITH THE 'NOTE' PERTAINING TO THE PARAMETERS IN A MORE APPROPRIATE POS.
