Narrative:
During climb out on runway 27 in cvg and immediately during retraction of flaps and climb check, we received a 'gear disagreement' warning message and aural message. We notified ATC, asked for holding vectors and began completion of the QRH. We talked to maintenance after completing the QRH for any additional information they might have. We were receiving a red hash mark signal for the left main gear. The nose and right main gear were indicating white up indications. After manual extension of the gear, we determined it was best to declare an emergency and return to cvg. We did receive a '3-green' down and locked indication after manual extension. We asked ATC for permission to perform a fly-by to runway 18R in cvg. During vectors for the fly-by we obtained a hydraulic system #3 high temperature caution message. We again notified maintenance who advised us to remain status quo and land quickly. We landed uneventfully, crash fire rescue equipment was standing by. Passenger were deplaned at the gate. Maintenance met the aircraft and no further incident occurred.

MAINT MET THE ACFT AND NO FURTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED.
