Narrative:
While testing GPWS/egpws on EMB145 fleet, the reset switch test worked fine on the work packs. We were told to sign off as a GPWS not egpws as per lead service bulletin that was training me. I was told we have no egpws. I asked how come it will test that way and a egpws computer installed? Told me still configure as a GPWS. I told inspection department about this. He asked, the lead told him GPWS. So this got signed off as GPWS. I have looked in to the 'amm,' does not tell what aircraft was what. Also the test switch and the flight deck switch labeled as GPWS. Ipc shows egpws. Inquired with embraer representative. He e-mailed embraer service engineering and was told all aircraft that have GPWS switch under the EICAS display unit is an egpws even though labeled as GPWS. I have brought this up. The aircraft test fine and paper was the issue.
