Narrative:

Aircraft was maintenance ferried into ZZZ due to during pushback from gate, the nose gear was twisted around. On inspection of gear, found wire harness was damaged as well as towing fuse pin. Parts were ordered from stores department and installed onto aircraft. The wire harness was installed on the wrong side of the gear assembly which caused the gear not to lock in place when retracted. After I found out, I thought, 'how did I install the wire harness on the wrong side?' I know the harness is installed on the r-hand side of the gear looking aft. But I was working behind the gear assembly and installed the harness and conduit on the r-hand side, which really was the l-hand side looking aft. I failed to doublechk the work from the front looking aft, due to I was thinking about the harness being routed to the right.
