Narrative:
I was in cruise at 17000 ft. Controller advised traffic at 12 mi, 2 O'clock position. I reported 'traffic in sight.' the crew of B777 reported me and controller approved climb through my altitude with B777 crew to maintain visual separation. I became concerned with closure and altitude. The crew of B777 reported a conflict resolution and discontinued climb. I was preparing to turn right to avoid the B777! I do not recall the controller advising of B777 being 'heavy' or 'caution wake turbulence.' I am aware of both characteristics of the B777. 'See and avoid' and collision avoidance system probably prevented a midair collision!

Title: BE10 PLT EXPERIENCED CONFLICT WITH B777 CLBING THROUGH HIS OR HER ALT DURING VISUAL SEPARATION PROCS.
Narrative: I WAS IN CRUISE AT 17000 FT. CTLR ADVISED TFC AT 12 MI, 2 O'CLOCK POS. I RPTED 'TFC IN SIGHT.' THE CREW OF B777 RPTED ME AND CTLR APPROVED CLB THROUGH MY ALT WITH B777 CREW TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION. I BECAME CONCERNED WITH CLOSURE AND ALT. THE CREW OF B777 RPTED A CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND DISCONTINUED CLB. I WAS PREPARING TO TURN R TO AVOID THE B777! I DO NOT RECALL THE CTLR ADVISING OF B777 BEING 'HVY' OR 'CAUTION WAKE TURB.' I AM AWARE OF BOTH CHARACTERISTICS OF THE B777. 'SEE AND AVOID' AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYS PROBABLY PREVENTED A MIDAIR COLLISION!
