Narrative:
Over mcb at FL370, was told by ATC to make a 'hard' right turn to heading of 190 degrees (from heading of 100 degrees). 1/2 way through the turn, TCASII reacted with a TA on air carrier Y no more than 3 to 4 mi away. When I heard 'hard right,' I turned off the autoplt to increase the rate of turn. When the TA triggered, I manually climbed the aircraft to FL372. When the conflicting aircraft was visually idented and determination was made that no conflict existed, I descended back to FL370 and turned the autoplt back on. Shortly after, we were given on course by ATC.

Title: A320 CREW RPT A LOSS OF SEPARATION OCCURRED AT FL370 NEAR MCB WHEN ATC REQUESTED A HARD R 90 DEG TURN. THE CREW ALSO RECEIVED A TCASII TA AND VISUALLY IDENTED THE TFC.

SHORTLY AFTER, WE WERE GIVEN ON COURSE BY ATC.
