Narrative:
After running the parking checklist in ZZZ, the operations agent informed us that part of an aircraft jack was attached to the aircraft, captain's side. Upon visual inspection of the aircraft, it was determined that the aircraft jacking pad was attached to the aircraft with 8 bolts. The captain made the appropriate telephone calls, and contract maintenance was dispatched. Maintenance removed the pad and the aircraft continued back to ZZZ1. The aircraft was flown to ZZZ with no indications of any problems. No sounds or vibrations were heard or felt on the flight from ZZZ1 to ZZZ with the associated jack pad installed. The preflight inspection was completed with a flashlight at local time. It was very dark outside and the faded red jack pad was installed on the orange paint, on the captain's side, under the jetway. It is my recommendation that in the future the jack pads be painted a 'safety yellow' color and a 'remove before flight' streamer be added.
