Narrative:
We were on top of clouds, in level flight with autoplt on at FL270 south of pie. ATC reported an F14 at 12 O'clock position at FL260. TCASII target was observed at that position at -10 (1000 ft below). The first officer picked up the traffic at 12 O'clock position. I looked at the first officer and saw the traffic go by very close. It appeared to be in the upper 1/2 of the first officer's side window. I would estimate horizontal distance less than a mi and slightly above us (about 200 ft), time in view less than 1 second. We reported this to ATC and verified our altitude at FL270. The TCASII target was in view behind us at -10 and when ATC asked him to verify his altitude, the TCASII display (-10) went away. No other altitude or altimeter discrepancies were observed on our aircraft. Our aircraft was checked ok by maintenance.

Narrative: WE WERE ON TOP OF CLOUDS, IN LEVEL FLT WITH AUTOPLT ON AT FL270 S OF PIE. ATC RPTED AN F14 AT 12 O'CLOCK POS AT FL260. TCASII TARGET WAS OBSERVED AT THAT POS AT -10 (1000 FT BELOW). THE FO PICKED UP THE TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK POS. I LOOKED AT THE FO AND SAW THE TFC GO BY VERY CLOSE. IT APPEARED TO BE IN THE UPPER 1/2 OF THE FO'S SIDE WINDOW. I WOULD ESTIMATE HORIZ DISTANCE LESS THAN A MI AND SLIGHTLY ABOVE US (ABOUT 200 FT), TIME IN VIEW LESS THAN 1 SECOND. WE RPTED THIS TO ATC AND VERIFIED OUR ALT AT FL270. THE TCASII TARGET WAS IN VIEW BEHIND US AT -10 AND WHEN ATC ASKED HIM TO VERIFY HIS ALT, THE TCASII DISPLAY (-10) WENT AWAY. NO OTHER ALT OR ALTIMETER DISCREPANCIES WERE OBSERVED ON OUR ACFT. OUR ACFT WAS CHKED OK BY MAINT.
