Narrative:
After leveloff at FL330, #1 engine was noted in the amber band for vibration. Reducing throttle as per QRH would decrease below amber but still well above #2 engine. Elected to return to ZZZ. Overweight landing at approximately 229000 pounds. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter said the engine was a rolls royce rb-211 and the engine was replaced.

Title: A B757-200 IN CRUISE AT FL330 DIVERTED DUE TO L ENG VIBRATION IN AMBER BAND. VIBRATION FOLLOWED THROTTLE MOVEMENT.
Narrative: AFTER LEVELOFF AT FL330, #1 ENG WAS NOTED IN THE AMBER BAND FOR VIBRATION. REDUCING THROTTLE AS PER QRH WOULD DECREASE BELOW AMBER BUT STILL WELL ABOVE #2 ENG. ELECTED TO RETURN TO ZZZ.
