Narrative:
My first officer wrote navigation for navisota for our departure clearance. When programming the FMS, I put navy's intersection as our transition instead of tnv, navisota. It caused for confusion with ourselves and ATC. I think it could cause confusion with other air carrier's as well, having a fix and VOR with similar sounding names. We ended up receiving a heading and figured it out, at the expense of frustrating ATC.
