Narrative:
During a routine slide deployment, it was discovered that a pre airworthiness directive 2001-15-01 slide latch chain assembly had been installed on aircraft X per an inventory search. The suspect part may have also been installed on aircraft Y. An inspection of the aircraft was to be conducted to change the slide latch assembly. If the suspect part was installed due to workload, the inspection has not been accomplished.
