Narrative:
Departure runway 24 teb on the teb 5 SID, the controller asked us what altitude we were at, and he stated that the SID says 1500 ft until 4.5 DME. We were almost to 4.5 DME when we reached 2000 ft, and there was no potential conflict. Supplemental information from acn 637956: I think reducing power right after takeoff would help with complying with the SID. Contributing factors: co-pilot being new to airplane. Landing characteristics. Both pilots not reviewing the SID properly and setting up the cockpit correctly. Rushing (time). Poor CRM.
