Air Traffic Incident | Intra Facility Coordination Failure |
Narrative:
Air carrier X departed ZZZ and immediately reported a gear problem. Supervisor was notified. Eventually aircraft did a fly-by to check gear and then request the emergency equipment standing by and was classified as an emergency. During this time; no controllers were notified that this event was taking place unless they were told as a coordination supervisor never revealed any plan of action or coordination an expectation on working this emergency. While this incident was going on; we were in the middle of our morning arrival push consisting of between 50-70 arrs. No flows were put into effect. Even the final controller was not told until coordination was effected by another controller. This event took place over a 25-40 min time frame.
