Narrative:
The runway remaining markers are unlighted. These are located on the south side of the runway's edge. Lighted runway remaining markers would greatly help in determining a go around point in case of a long landing. Faded and/or missing runway threshold markings and center runway markings for landing either runway. In addition; there are no side runway marking lines which would greatly help in determining landing flare heights and of course the runway's edge during inclement WX and during a night time operation. Upon takeoff; I counted no less than 8 runway lights inoperative. The end runway windsocks are unlighted and ragged. The center field runway windsock is dimly lighted; poorly located and can be seen from no more than 200 ft. It is sheltered from the wind in several directions. Runway grooves are not maintained; not cleaned. The runway's surface is breaking down with FOD hazards. FOD hazards are occasionally encountered. Approximately 1500 ft from the threshold of runway 27 and encompassing at least 1000 ft; the runway is settling into a slight depression. Landing on runway 27 will cause at times; the nosewheel strut to bottom out. Clearways for the arrival ends need to be maintained and further cut back. Unique wind rotaries are encountered landing runway 9 due to tropical foliage in the clearway area. The ramp areas are dimly lighted; obstructions poorly marked.

Title: A MLG PLT NOTES DETERIORATED ARPT ENVIRONMENT AND RWY CONDITIONS AT POHNPEI; MICRONESIA; ARPT.
Narrative: THE RWY REMAINING MARKERS ARE UNLIGHTED. THESE ARE LOCATED ON THE S SIDE OF THE RWY'S EDGE. LIGHTED RWY REMAINING MARKERS WOULD GREATLY HELP IN DETERMINING A GO AROUND POINT IN CASE OF A LONG LNDG. FADED AND/OR MISSING RWY THRESHOLD MARKINGS AND CTR RWY MARKINGS FOR LNDG EITHER RWY. IN ADDITION; THERE ARE NO SIDE RWY MARKING LINES WHICH WOULD GREATLY HELP IN DETERMINING LNDG FLARE HEIGHTS AND OF COURSE THE RWY'S EDGE DURING INCLEMENT WX AND DURING A NIGHT TIME OPERATION. UPON TKOF; I COUNTED NO LESS THAN 8 RWY LIGHTS INOP. THE END RWY WINDSOCKS ARE UNLIGHTED AND RAGGED. THE CTR FIELD RWY WINDSOCK IS DIMLY LIGHTED; POORLY LOCATED AND CAN BE SEEN FROM NO MORE THAN 200 FT. IT IS SHELTERED FROM THE WIND IN SEVERAL DIRECTIONS. RWY GROOVES ARE NOT MAINTAINED; NOT CLEANED. THE RWY'S SURFACE IS BREAKING DOWN WITH FOD HAZARDS. FOD HAZARDS ARE OCCASIONALLY ENCOUNTERED. APPROX 1500 FT FROM THE THRESHOLD OF RWY 27 AND ENCOMPASSING AT LEAST 1000 FT; THE RWY IS SETTLING INTO A SLIGHT DEPRESSION. LNDG ON RWY 27 WILL CAUSE AT TIMES; THE NOSEWHEEL STRUT TO BOTTOM OUT. CLEARWAYS FOR THE ARR ENDS NEED TO BE MAINTAINED AND FURTHER CUT BACK. UNIQUE WIND ROTARIES ARE ENCOUNTERED LNDG RWY 9 DUE TO TROPICAL FOLIAGE IN THE CLEARWAY AREA. THE RAMP AREAS ARE DIMLY LIGHTED; OBSTRUCTIONS POORLY MARKED.
