Narrative:

Aircraft X was climbing sbound after leaving jax approach. Assigned altitude was FL200. Air carrier Y was descending sbound on the bitho arrival for mco. Assigned altitude was FL210. When both aircraft were level; I checked the speeds which were compatible. Aircraft X was 5 mi behind air carrier Y; so I climbed the aircraft to FL310 and descended the air carrier Y at the same time. Conflict alert went off and I requested aircraft X to expedite climb. The ntad showed the aircraft were 4.2 mi apart.
