Narrative:

At the start of the night; I got my workload and had a history of forward flight attendant headset noise. My foreman told me we could try a handset (one had been sent to aircraft for the problem because unit was not in stock). I thought the part from stores that was ordered for the aircraft would be the correct effectivity; but I was incorrect. Somehow the part got through the stores process. Even though it came for that aircraft; I should have still checked.
