Narrative:
Departing ZZZ1; felt strong vibration at rotation which resembled a blown tire. Delayed gear retraction in which the vibration decreased; so I retracted the gear. I discussed the situation with the first officer and we both agreed that it could be a deflated or blown tire; so I opted to declare an emergency and land in ZZZ2. The landing was a non event. Maintenance found #2 main tire had a huge flat spot.
