Narrative:

Saturday night; an aircraft was turned over to me from swing shift maintenance with a lightning strike. Damage was found on the rudder; vertical stabilizer and below the forward service door. All items were temporarily repaired or deferred as required. The mv-1 check was also required and performed on the aircraft. The following morning during the crew preflight walkaround; burn; low on the left engine outboard thrust reverser was found. The item was addressed before push but took a 44 min delay. Factors for the error were it was dark and item was low on the engine. To prevent this from happening in the future; 2 mechanics should be required to perform and sign off the inspection. An extra set of eyes should prevent items from getting missed.
