Narrative:

Aircraft X was in 'C' check in may/05. At approximately XA00 the l-hand wing was paneled up. After re-paneling; I checked to see that all panels were properly installed. Found all ok. The first flight of the day was to ZZZ1. On walkaround; the flight crew found panel 521 kb missing on the l-hand wing leading edge. A panel was robbed off an aircraft in ZZZ1 and 2 mechanics took the panel to ZZZ2 and installed it. Upon learning that the panel was missing; a check was made of the ZZZ2 hangar and work stands to locate the missing panel. No panel was ever found. All of the individuals involved in signing off the installation of the panel remember the panel being installed on the aircraft.
