Narrative:
On mar/xa/05 I was instructed by my lead to replace the upper and lower torque link assemblies on the l-hand main landing gear of aircraft X. My lead looked up and ordered the parts for me. I installed the parts in accordance with our maintenance manual. When the removed parts were received in our gear shop; the documented part numbers indicated an improper part installation of the upper torque link. The aircraft was returned to our maintenance base on may/xa/05 and new parts were installed.
