Narrative:
On final approach; at appropriate speeds; flaps 25 degrees. When flap handle raised out of the 25 degree flaps detent to select flaps 30 degrees; flaps blew up to flaps 20 degrees. Got 'trailing edge' light and 'flap load relief' EICAS message. Aircraft flew normally at flaps 20 degrees; landed at flaps 20 degrees and reported problem to maintenance. They said aircraft had previous history and took it OTS.

Narrative: ON FINAL APCH; AT APPROPRIATE SPDS; FLAPS 25 DEGS. WHEN FLAP HANDLE RAISED OUT OF THE 25 DEG FLAPS DETENT TO SELECT FLAPS 30 DEGS; FLAPS BLEW UP TO FLAPS 20 DEGS.
