After takeoff from runway 24 from teb leveled at 1500 ft turned right to 280 degree heading allowed altitude to 1750 ft to 1800 ft before 4.5 DME from teb. Corrected to 1500 ft before 4.5 DME from teb. Was cleared to 6000 ft before reaching 4.5 DME from teb. Next time I will set altitude select to 1500 ft until 4.5 DME from teb.
