Narrative:
On final approach runway 1R; iad; outside the FAF; tower advised us several times of traffic below us. We received a TA followed by RA climb. After following the RA; we received an all clear. We were by the FAF by this time and attempted to resume the approach. However; soon after; as we were not fully configured and unstabilized; we elected to execute a missed approach. We then returned to iad and landed.
