Narrative:
Gate call for forward entry door slide pressure low. Looked up slide in ipc. Went to parts computer; printed pages. Installed slide listed. Part #xyz. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the slide installed was one of the 'cheaper' slides that the manufacturer has an agreement with the company to use all of their brand slides in all doors of the airplane. This agreement does not allow intermix with the other manufacturer slides. The slide the reporter installed was checked for being a correct installation but the reporter overlooked the small engineering note that required all slides installed must be of same manufacturer. The airplane was stopped at a down-line station to remove the installed slide and replace it with a same brand slide.

Narrative: GATE CALL FOR FORWARD ENTRY DOOR SLIDE PRESSURE LOW. LOOKED UP SLIDE IN IPC. WENT TO PARTS COMPUTER; PRINTED PAGES. INSTALLED SLIDE LISTED. PART #XYZ. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE SLIDE INSTALLED WAS ONE OF THE 'CHEAPER' SLIDES THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COMPANY TO USE ALL OF THEIR BRAND SLIDES IN ALL DOORS OF THE AIRPLANE. THIS AGREEMENT DOES NOT ALLOW INTERMIX WITH THE OTHER MANUFACTURER SLIDES. THE SLIDE THE RPTR INSTALLED WAS CHKED FOR BEING A CORRECT INSTALLATION BUT THE RPTR OVERLOOKED THE SMALL ENGINEERING NOTE THAT REQUIRED ALL SLIDES INSTALLED MUST BE OF SAME MANUFACTURER. THE AIRPLANE WAS STOPPED AT A DOWN-LINE STATION TO REMOVE THE INSTALLED SLIDE AND REPLACE IT WITH A SAME BRAND SLIDE.
