Narrative:

I was conducting OJT on the dallas north position at D10 TRACON. We received handoffs of the PAY3 at 4000 ft eastbound on the north airway. (The north 6 mi of our airspace.) going to dal; and a B737 on same route at 7000 ft going to dal also. The trainee turned the B737 and descended to 3000 ft. Separation was lost when the B737 left 5000 ft because there was only 14 degrees of divergence. I thought it was enough. I found out it was 14 degrees in the replay.
