Narrative:
The E145 was lead aircraft on a SID; assigned a speed of 300 KTS or better. The FA50 was in trail of E145 and assigned speed of 280 KTS. Loss of spacing occurred with the FA50 level at 17000 ft and the E145 climbing through 16000 ft to 17000 ft. Poor judgement of aircraft performance by controller caused situation. Contributing factors: moderate or greater workload of controller. Observed by supervisor at time of event.

Title: D10 CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT 17000 FT WHEN FAILING TO DETECT OVERTAKE PROB WITH 2 DFW DEPS.
Narrative: THE E145 WAS LEAD ACFT ON A SID; ASSIGNED A SPD OF 300 KTS OR BETTER. THE FA50 WAS IN TRAIL OF E145 AND ASSIGNED SPD OF 280 KTS. LOSS OF SPACING OCCURRED WITH THE FA50 LEVEL AT 17000 FT AND THE E145 CLBING THROUGH 16000 FT TO 17000 FT. POOR JUDGEMENT OF ACFT PERFORMANCE BY CTLR CAUSED SITUATION. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: MODERATE OR GREATER WORKLOAD OF CTLR. OBSERVED BY SUPVR AT TIME OF EVENT.
