Narrative:
Before we arrived at the aircraft we were pre-briefed by the arriving pilot that the proper MEL was complied with and that the maintenance condition was pre-existing and had been prior coordination with maintenance control. Mechanics in XXX signed off the logbook and added MEL 22-4C. An amended release was added prior to our departure. It was my understanding that the correct MEL was accomplished correctly. Maintenance in XXX did not install the MEL sticker near the autothrottle switch. I didn't think there was any room for one myself. The issue seems to reside with maintenance and not the pilots.
