Narrative:

I climbed a C525 to FL180 from 12000 ft swbound from okk north of ind. An E170 at 17000 ft was northbound from ind to ord. I called ZID for coordination on 2 aircraft. When I came off the line; I noticed the C525 was in conflict with the E170. The C525 mode C read 152; so I stopped the C525 at 16000 ft. The C525 respond that they were at 17000 ft climbing. I continued the climb of C525 to FL200 since the aircraft were past each other. The mode C on the C525 lagged far behind and conflict alert did not activate until after they passed. Coordination took my attention away from situation. I missed traffic for C525 initially because I was focused on potential traffic down the road.
