Narrative:

While working sector R-39 at the maximum allowable workload; my attention was focused on resolving several potential conflicts with eastbound traffic on rtes between pmd and blh. The air carrier MD83 called climbing out of the psp airport. I scanned out to find an altitude to climb to and missed traffic that was closer in proximity than where I was scanning. The pilot alerted me as to the proximity to other traffic. There was no warning from conflict alert; no advisory from oedp. I would have not known about the situation at all if the air carrier pilot had not made me aware.
