Narrative:

I approached columbus airport (bak) and contacted tower. I was given approval for landing using right pattern to runway 32 I flew downwind at pattern altitude 1500 ft MSL. I turned right base and slowed to 85 mph and lowered flaps. On final; I slowed to 75 mph and full flaps. As I neared the ground; I leveled the airplane and prepared to flare. The aircraft nosed down and the nosewheel hit hard and the aircraft went up and to the right. I increased to full throttle and turned carburetor heat off. Once the aircraft was stable and elevating; I lifted the flaps. I checked the instruments and all were in the green. I noticed no unusual noise or vibration. The tower cleared me for landing and I landed on runway 32. I taxied to the ramp but did not shut down; then got clearance for one more landing. After the second landing; I taxied and departed for shelbyville. I did not notice any damage until I landed at shelbyville airport and shut down at the fuel pump for refueling. It was then I noticed the damage to the propeller. The aircraft performed as though nothing was wrong. The engine was smooth and responsive to the throttle.

Title: GRUMMAN AA5 STUDENT PLT HAS A PROP STRIKE ON LNDG.

Narrative: I APCHED COLUMBUS ARPT (BAK) AND CONTACTED TWR. I WAS GIVEN APPROVAL FOR LNDG USING R PATTERN TO RWY 32 I FLEW DOWNWIND AT PATTERN ALT 1500 FT MSL. I TURNED R BASE AND SLOWED TO 85 MPH AND LOWERED FLAPS. ON FINAL; I SLOWED TO 75 MPH AND FULL FLAPS. AS I NEARED THE GND; I LEVELED THE AIRPLANE AND PREPARED TO FLARE. THE ACFT NOSED DOWN AND THE NOSEWHEEL HIT HARD AND THE ACFT WENT UP AND TO THE R. I INCREASED TO FULL THROTTLE AND TURNED CARB HEAT OFF. ONCE THE ACFT WAS STABLE AND ELEVATING; I LIFTED THE FLAPS. I CHKED THE INSTS AND ALL WERE IN THE GREEN. I NOTICED NO UNUSUAL NOISE OR VIBRATION. THE TWR CLRED ME FOR LNDG AND I LANDED ON RWY 32. I TAXIED TO THE RAMP BUT DID NOT SHUT DOWN; THEN GOT CLRNC FOR ONE MORE LNDG. AFTER THE SECOND LNDG; I TAXIED AND DEPARTED FOR SHELBYVILLE. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY DAMAGE UNTIL I LANDED AT SHELBYVILLE ARPT AND SHUT DOWN AT THE FUEL PUMP FOR REFUELING. IT WAS THEN I NOTICED THE DAMAGE TO THE PROP. THE ACFT PERFORMED AS THOUGH NOTHING WAS WRONG. THE ENG WAS SMOOTH AND RESPONSIVE TO THE THROTTLE.
