Narrative:
Aircraft X was an ind departure to cwo filed outside my airspace. Low altitude sector handed him off to me because he had multiple ind departures without requested in-trail. I accepted the handoff to help out the low controller and climbed the aircraft to FL290; leaving FL240 turn 100 degrees left; direct hvq. Aircraft made a slow turn to hvq. When I analyzed the possible confliction with air carrier Y; I thought I had 10 mi lateral separation but aircraft X was still turning. I climbed aircraft X to FL330 and descended air carrier Y to FL260; then went to solve 2 other conflictions in my sector. When I went back to check on aircraft X and air carrier Y again; aircraft X had finished his turn and it was apparent I would have less than 5 mi lateral. I tried to use vertical separation but was too late. I turned aircraft X 20 degrees right; but that was not enough. Ended up with 4.98 mi lateral; 300 ft vertical.

Title: ZID CTLR HAD OPERROR AT FL290 WHILE DSNDING 1 ACFT AND CLBING THE OTHER.
Narrative: ACFT X WAS AN IND DEP TO CWO FILED OUTSIDE MY AIRSPACE. LOW ALT SECTOR HANDED HIM OFF TO ME BECAUSE HE HAD MULTIPLE IND DEPS WITHOUT REQUESTED IN-TRAIL. I ACCEPTED THE HDOF TO HELP OUT THE LOW CTLR AND CLBED THE ACFT TO FL290; LEAVING FL240 TURN 100 DEGS L; DIRECT HVQ. ACFT MADE A SLOW TURN TO HVQ. WHEN I ANALYZED THE POSSIBLE CONFLICTION WITH ACR Y; I THOUGHT I HAD 10 MI LATERAL SEPARATION BUT ACFT X WAS STILL TURNING. I CLBED ACFT X TO FL330 AND DSNDED ACR Y TO FL260; THEN WENT TO SOLVE 2 OTHER CONFLICTIONS IN MY SECTOR. WHEN I WENT BACK TO CHK ON ACFT X AND ACR Y AGAIN; ACFT X HAD FINISHED HIS TURN AND IT WAS APPARENT I WOULD HAVE LESS THAN 5 MI LATERAL. I TRIED TO USE VERT SEPARATION BUT WAS TOO LATE. I TURNED ACFT X 20 DEGS R; BUT THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH. ENDED UP WITH 4.98 MI LATERAL; 300 FT VERT.
