Narrative:
We got a right engine oil strainer caution going into ZZZ1. Had the filter changed by contract maintenance and performed engine run-up/leak check -- all looked good. Next leg to ZZZ2 during final climb; the right engine oil pressure low caution light illuminated with a simultaneous loss of all fluid and pressure. We were 90 mi from ZZZ3 so declared an emergency and diverted there. We kept the right engine at idle and monitored per operating manual. Mechanic in ZZZ3 informed us that it's very easy to cut the new o-ring during installation of the filter so they normally just leave the old one on place. This might be good information for contract maintenance filter changes.
