Narrative:
I was helping the purchaser of a BE55 get familiar with his aircraft. This was our first serious work on VFR patterns. We taxied to runway; I did our run-up and took off for a visual circuit. The plan was to do several full stop taxi back lndgs; both flaps up and flaps 30 degrees. His first landing was on touchdown zone (1000-1300 ft down the runway) left of centerline. He slowed the aircraft and exited the runway at A8. During the taxi on taxiway A8; the right brake failed and he drifted left of centerline. I applied full right rudder and announced 'I have control.' we exited the taxiway before he released the left brake. (In his aircraft the right seat has no brakes). The left propeller struck a taxiway light. I informed geu ground that we would taxi to park and taxied the aircraft to the ramp. Supplemental information from acn 694553: upon turning onto taxiway A8; right toe brake went to the floor; aircraft veered left and left propeller hit 2 taxi lights. Mei took over steering; we taxied to ramp and had aircraft towed to parking spot.

Title: BE55 BEECH BARON PLT LOSES THE R BRAKE AND HAS A TXWY EXCURSION; PROP STRIKES 2 TAXI LIGHTS; ACFT DAMAGE.
Narrative: I WAS HELPING THE PURCHASER OF A BE55 GET FAMILIAR WITH HIS ACFT. THIS WAS OUR FIRST SERIOUS WORK ON VFR PATTERNS. WE TAXIED TO RWY; I DID OUR RUN-UP AND TOOK OFF FOR A VISUAL CIRCUIT. THE PLAN WAS TO DO SEVERAL FULL STOP TAXI BACK LNDGS; BOTH FLAPS UP AND FLAPS 30 DEGS. HIS FIRST LNDG WAS ON TOUCHDOWN ZONE (1000-1300 FT DOWN THE RWY) LEFT OF CTRLINE. HE SLOWED THE ACFT AND EXITED THE RWY AT A8. DURING THE TAXI ON TXWY A8; THE R BRAKE FAILED AND HE DRIFTED L OF CTRLINE. I APPLIED FULL R RUDDER AND ANNOUNCED 'I HAVE CTL.' WE EXITED THE TXWY BEFORE HE RELEASED THE L BRAKE. (IN HIS ACFT THE R SEAT HAS NO BRAKES). THE L PROP STRUCK A TXWY LIGHT. I INFORMED GEU GND THAT WE WOULD TAXI TO PARK AND TAXIED THE ACFT TO THE RAMP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 694553: UPON TURNING ONTO TXWY A8; R TOE BRAKE WENT TO THE FLOOR; ACFT VEERED L AND L PROP HIT 2 TAXI LIGHTS. MEI TOOK OVER STEERING; WE TAXIED TO RAMP AND HAD ACFT TOWED TO PARKING SPOT.
