Narrative:
I was flying from 4n1 to N51. The plane was new to me with a KLN94 GPS and a garmin 396 GPS. I was practicing on the equipment when I noticed mmu was near. I continued flying by. I then noticed my directional gyro was about 30 degrees off compared to the magnetic compass. I should have been paying closer attention to my exact location.
