Narrative:
At approximately 50 mi from dfw on departure; we lost the right generator. We followed the procedures in the QRH. The APU would not start. We returned to dfw for landing without incident.

Title: MD80 EXPERIENCES GENERATOR FAILURE SHORTLY AFTER TKOF. RETURNS TO DEP ARPT ACCOUNT UNABLE TO START APU FOR BACKUP GENERATOR.
Narrative: AT APPROX 50 MI FROM DFW ON DEP; WE LOST THE R GENERATOR. WE FOLLOWED THE PROCS IN THE QRH. THE APU WOULD NOT START. WE RETURNED TO DFW FOR LNDG WITHOUT INCIDENT.
